100% KATOLIKONG PINOY! is a Catholic Internet Ministry Group that upholds the Catholic Faith. The group aims to serve the need of a Catholic Filipino to know and appreciate the truth of the faith better, and to live a full and active Catholic life in the Church.

 HISTORY

100% KATOLIKONG PINOY! started on February 26, 2007 in the social networking site Friendster. It started as an initiative on bringing filipino catholics together into one place in Friendster when the need to know and appreciate the faith is felt. Friendster that time has a lot of non-catholic/anti-catholic groups, and catholic groups also but without the interest to the Catholic faith. This has prompted to establish groups devoted for the knowledge of the truth and faith. One of them, which the founder-starter open in Friendster groups, is with the name 100% Katolikong Pinoy.

Right after it opened, discussion flowed it. Many Friendster Filipino Catholics joined the group and talked and open threads about everything under the sun, on things that pertains to the faith and anything else. Just as any Friendster group at that time, outsiders would tend to join the conversation, even to the point of harassing the faith. Valiant defenders of the faith hold off the line, until a measure to make the group as private is decided at mid 2007.

Within the group, members are entertaining and aspiring for the idea for it to be a church organization and suggested applying for it. Members suggested a meet-up, and the first meet-up happened in May 2009, after the second anniversary. The moderator coined the meet-up as a Catacumba, after his suggestion in an online interview with the  Tanghalang Anluwage Web Ministry. Many continued to join the humble Friendster group peaking five thousand plus in membership. The group also keeps a group in Catholic Answers.

When Friendster started declining by the year 2009, it is by then that social network users are transferring to Facebook. 100% KATOLIKONG PINOY! joined Facebook in 2009. To the dismay of some Friendster users, many members became inactive in Friendster because of more convenient things Facebook has. The group created a group page, and latter a fan page (dated June 28, 2009), for the group. The group began an active ministry catering the Catholic fans, likers and subscribers just before or in the Facebook era.

By mid-2009, the 100% KATOLIKONG PINOY! members reported to the CBCP Media Office so the Philippine Church might attain knowledge with the group as an existing and forming one.

Though in alliance with other groups, 100% KATOLIKONG PINOY! remained largely independent to other Catholic organizations and entities. It is not also CBCP affiliated.

God’s ways are mysterious and bountiful through this little effort. Long live Jesus Christ in His Church!
